Ione Wells is a writer, journalist and broadcaster, who is currently a political correspondent at BBC News. She has worked at the BBC for six years, including in radio, television, online and social media journalism. She has also spent time working in documentary and podcast production. She previously produced some of the BBC's most successful podcasts including Americast, Newscast and Brexitcast but now is an on-air reporter. For two years, Ione served as a member of the BBC's Next Generation Committee, which was tasked with advising the organisation's executive committee on how to reinvent the BBC's content and workforce to serve a younger generation. Before becoming a journalist, Ione worked for the HighTide Theatre Festival for two years.
