George Yates

George is a legal advisor, currently working for the BBC. Joining the corporation fresh out of school as a paralegal apprentice, her first role was in Children in Need's legal team. Since then her professional experience has ranged across commissioning, in-house audio production and distribution, working on contentious and non-contentious matters. She hopes to qualify as a solicitor later this year.

She was a member of the inaugural board of the BBC's Next Generation Committee, co-founded and co-chaired the Young Talent Network (the BBC staff network for colleagues early in their careers) and was awarded the Young Women's Trust Apprentice of the Year 2019. Born and raised in Huddersfield, some of her happiest times at home have been seeing shows at the brilliant Lawrence Batley Theatre.
