In September, we piloted a new intensive R&D framework, advancing three new works written by represented writers in one week. Our hope was to give time and space for creative exploration to these very different, contemporary pieces - each one at different stages of development.
It was an extraordinary week of creativity and collaboration. Bringing together a creative company of Directors, Writers, Actors and Intimacy & Trans Consultant, we supported new work by Lucy Davidson, The Crate Escape by Dougie Blaxland and Hitler: Based on a True Story by Tim Luscombe.
Activity took place in the Studio and Theatre at our new home 26 Crowndale, kindly supported by Theatro Technis and contibutors to our Pillars of Support appeal.
Plans are in progress to integrate this model within future production activity in 2025, so do be in touch if you'd like to know more about next opportunities or any of the works highlighted.
"It felt well supported and was clear in what it was trying to do. The creative team gathered together was a really strong asset to the project."
It was a wonderful opportunity to meet and make genuine connections with creatives I'd not worked with before. I liked that the work was in the early stages of its development and I felt that my thoughts and input were valued. It felt like a safe space to contribute my ideas and make choices.
A real respect for The Production Exchange and the passion that they have for nurturing their clients; collaboration with actors, writers, directors and their passion for new work."
