NORTHANGER ABBEY has its Press Night this evening at the Orange Tree Theatre - starring Rebecca Banatvala as Cath.
Inspired by Jane Austen's novel, this is a new adaptation by Zoe Cooper & directed by Tessa Walker.
Catherine Morland knows little of the world, but who needs real-life experience when you have novels to guide you? Catherine seizes her chance to escape her claustrophobic family and join the smart set in Bath. Between balls and parties spent with the aloof Henry Tilney, she meets sophisticated, intoxicating Isabella Thorpe – Iz, to her friends – and so Cath’s secret adventure begins.
A co-production with Octagon Theatre Bolton, the Stephen Joseph Theatre Scarborough and Theatre by the Lake
Playing at the Orange Tree until February 24th, before touring the UK.
Rebecca is represented by The Production Exchange as an Actor & Writer. Her debut play A PIECE OF MY LIVER was shortlisted for The Tony Craze Award in 2023, and is currently in development.
